The space

Access to the apartment is via a private entrance inside Bessemer House, one of Sheffield’s most iconic buildings. Once the headquarters of the Bessemer Steel Company, the building stands proudly in the city’s historic Industrial Quarter, seamlessly blending heritage architecture with modern-day comfort.

Built in 1901, Bessemer House was named after Sir Henry Bessemer, who revolutionised steelmaking in the 1850s with his groundbreaking process. His innovation transformed Sheffield into a global steel powerhouse, earning the city its proud title of Steel City. Today, this historic building offers a refined space to stay while exploring the best Sheffield has to offer — from artisan coffee shops and cosy cafés to hidden bars and fantastic dining spots.

Guests benefit from secure gated parking and free on-street parking, with an optional off-road gated car park also available upon request.

House rules

I will require ID from the primary guest. I might require a £100 refundable house rules fees prior to check-in. This is refunded after post checkout inspection and subject to compliance to house rules: no smoking policy, no unauthorized extra guests, no noise/laud music during quiet times 8pm - 8am, no parties.

Interaction with guests

We provide a 24-hour self-check-in service. A code will be provided for the key lock and thereafter we can be reached via message or phone call at all times.

Other things to note

Check-in time is usually after 3 pm, and check-out time is usually before 11 am. We offer a range of extras to make your stay even easier. Early check-in/Late check-out (£10/hr), pet cleaning fee (£20), travel cot hire (£20), mid-stay cleaning (£35), and extra linen/towels (£10). Need groceries pre-stocked or luggage storage? Just let us know in advance, and we’ll do our best to arrange it.
